About Us

Natural History Services is a Massachusetts based endeavor specializing in local wildlife with a focus on birds. Our guide, David Clapp, has more than 30 years experience leading natural history tours throughout North America. He has also traveled to many places in South America including Venezuela, Peru, and Chile. David's home away from home, however, is East Africa. For over 20 years he has shared the wonders of migration across the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara with hundreds of travelers. Each time he visits is a magnificent spectacle and a life changing experience for the first time visitor!

David's work with the Massachusetts Audubon Society provided him with many opportunities to study local ecology. With that he has developed inventories and management plans to assist with land conservation in Massachusetts. His wife Fran is an avid birder but she has made a career as an aquatic ecologist. She worked for 9 years on vernal pools for Massachusetts Audubon Society and was an aquatic ecologist for the Massachusetts Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program. With their experience they can offer land owners and managers ecological inventories, management plans, and vernal pool certifications.
